Introduction

Institute History

Background of the Institute Thakur Bharat Singh Memorial Private Industrial Training Institute is a tribute to Thakur Bharat Singh (lovingly called arawat of member saab) who was a respected figure in the region. Primarily a farmer from a small and remote village of Saharanpur he had substantial influence in politics and social work. A promoter of knowledge and skills, he crossed all hurdles and helped his sons to pursue higher education way back in 1950’s. This was even more significant because education system is still exploring its real soul in the region. In the due course of time his sons and grandsons have established themselves as a businessmen and professionals involved in diversified sphere of activities such as Agricultural products, Entertainment, Education, Manufacturing of Engineering Goods and chemicals, Real Estate and Finance etc. Since 1996 one of the group establishment “Saharanpur Engineering Works Private Limited”, engaged in Design, Development, Manufacturing and commissioning of heavy Plants and Machineries exists in region that remained work place for Thakur Bharat Singh all his life. A dedicated team of professionals is engaged in the organization catering to the requirement of National as well as international customers. All national and International standards in manufacturing of Engineering goods are being strictly adhered to inside the premises of the Company. In 2010 a society Thakur Bharat Singh Memorial Shikshan Sansthan was formed to promote education primarily in the rural areas. In 2011 the first institute “Thakur Bharat Singh Memorial Private ITI” was established adjacent to Saharanpur Engineering Works forming a common campus. Following trades were finalized.. 1. Mech draughtsman (1+1 Units, ie 1 Unit / year with max strength of 21 trainees) 2. Electrician (1+1 Units, ie 1 Unit / year with max strength of 21 trainees) 3. Fitter (1+1 Units, ie 1 Unit / year with max strength of 21 trainees) 4. Turner (1+1 Units, ie 1 Unit / year with max strength of 16 trainees) 5. Welder (1+1 Units, ie 2 Units / year with max strength of 32 trainees) There were several reasons in support of the decision of starting this institute with the mentioned trades • ITI courses suits the local aspirants more than any other courses (Educational or Professional) in order for them to lead a respectful lives. • Above trades vastly complete the set of activities of any manufacturing units • With related industry in the vicinity trainees may have a better exposure not only of their respective trades but also of the other trades and how all craftsmen worked together as team in real industries • The trainees may have interaction with professionals of Industries through regular workshop / industry visits and guest lectures and workshops. • There was no Industrial Training Institute within 15 km for the local inter college pass outs • To develop future trained profession for Saharanpur Engineering Works Affiliation for the above trades was sought from NCVT for 1+1 unit (Single batch of 16 or 21 students per trade per years) as the intention was to generate quality not quantity. The affiliation was granted on 30.08.2011 by NCVT vide order # 6/24/232/2011-TC. However due to large number of aspirants showing overwhelming interest in the institute the chairpersons and members of the society have unanimously decided to increase the number of trades preferable by the start of August 2016 session. The sources of fund generation for the institute are tution fee from the trainees or by the society members. No third source or donors are associated with the institute. Although many individual and organization had shown interests in supporting this ITI financialy but they were rather requested for something that was required most by this Institute the most and which is priceless for us. Objective

Though still majority of the population of India is still engaged in primary sector, yet the increase in population and increasing trend of nuclear families (division of primary resources like agricultural lands) has pushed the primary sector in our country to its saturation limits. We are now importing possibly every primary sector products to sustain the ever growing demands of these products. Nations development seems impossible without Industrialization. Growth and development of Industry is very much related to development of Industrial Training Institutes. Industry will be able to grow and prosper only if the Trainees coming out from various Industrial Training Institutes are able to meet the expectation of industry. To ensure the competency of trained students of ITI’s is at par with the International requirements NCVT, DGET and QCI has joined hands to establish an accreditation mechanism in line with International Benchmark. The synergy between these organizations will help us to meet the national target of skilled man power not only quantitatively but also qualitatively. If India has any chance of deemed development it may well be through its qualified manpower. We at TBS strive to meet this Objective and impart training so that Young India is ready to meet the requirement of Industries.
